Denim, from “de Nîmes” (as in the city of Nîmes), is a sturdy cotton fabric with a rustic appeal. The technique itself is actually a version of another Eton favorite: twill. With a cultural status that few fabrics can boast, denim has a unique standing as an essential in the wardrobe. At Eton, it is a refined workwear-inspired fabric, with the weight, tactility, and texture of great classic denim and the softness, looks, and longevity that comes from being made from some of the finest cotton fibers in each harvest. Dyed with indigo for a unique patina that ages beautifully — garment-washed for increased softness.
